About

Keiko Kubo

Originally from Japan, Keiko became a licensed Ikebana instructor before moving to the United States to continue her education in the fine arts. She graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a M.F.A. degree, majoring in sculpture, and has also studied Western floral art.

Keiko’s Ikebana Approach

I make Ikebana as a three-dimensional sculptural form, using the flowers and other materials as my medium of expression. My Ikebana is a freestyle approach. It is also influenced by Western -style floral design and my background in the fine arts.
